The Quadraphonic Rock Block started in 2004 in Kirksville, Missouri. My first attempt at college was at a weird, small, fun little school called Truman State University in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I had a friend online who went there and I applied on a whim, and not knowing what else to do with my life, decided to try my luck at Truman after high school. Four thousand panic attacks later I retreated back home to Arizona, but not before (a) meeting the woman who would become both a great friend and the mother of my children, and (b) getting a radio show on Dobson Radio, a tiny little station run out of my dorm. I named it the Quadraphonic Rock Bloc (no k for cool reasons) because it sounded awesome, and I spent most of my shows playing the Smiths and Mogwai and Neutral Milk Hotel and generally broadcasting my angst to the three people who were able to receive our tiny little signal. Those playlists are lost to time but trust me, that's for the best.

In 2021, I got the chance to join the genuinely wonderful people at KUCR and the Quadraphonic Rock Block came back to life, with an added "k" at the end of "Bloc" because I am now 40. It remains the highlight of my Fridays, and I feel truly fortunate to have the chance to share music that I love with people I don't know. I hope you hear something you like ❤️ And get in touch if you ever feel the urge!
